WellSurgent is a peer-operated North Carolina nonprofit organization dedicated to helping people with mental and substance use disorders.
Through collaboration, education and training, WellSurgent provides peers, family members, and community support services the tools to live healthy, reduce stigma, and strengthen communities.
We believe partnering with other community, peer-operated, and faith-based organizations to develop a strong network is important. These partnerships create communication channels to better reach those in need. Through collaboration we can share evidence-based peer support trainings, workshops, tools and resources. WellSurgent is proud that its network spans across the country.
Education is an ongoing process. WellSurgent's approach to education is individualized, introspective, and recovery-based. WellSurgent strives to continue its education by learning from and listening to others. The Wellness Recovery Action Plan or WRAP® is an evidence-based practice with proven results. By educating the public on effective wellness curriculums and strategies, WellSurgent is able to help people stay well and live healthier lives for longer periods of time.
A cornerstone of WellSurgent's services is offering high quality trainings. Our trainings draw from curriculums and approaches developed, approved, or recommended by leading organizations and agencies such as SAMHSA, CMS and the National Council for Mental Wellbeing. We are also authorized to provide several trainings that meet the North Carolina Certified Peer Support Specialist Program training requirements.
